Welcome to the Y!
OUR MISSION
Our Mission is to put Christian principles into practice through programs that build healthy spirit, mind and body for all.
Our Mission compels us to embrace, reflect and celebrate the richness of diversity within each other and the many communities we serve. In that Christian principles are caring and inclusive, we are respectful of various expressions of faith and serve families and individuals from all traditions, backgrounds and perspectives. Together, we work to ensure that everyone, has the opportunity to reach their full potential with dignity at our YMCA. As with everything we do, we are guided by our core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility —values that compel us to recognize the value of every person and to be an organization for all.
OUR PURPOSE
We’re committed to nurturing the potential of children through Youth Development, improving the nation’s health and well-being by promoting Healthy Living, and fostering a sense of Social Responsibility by providing opportunities to give back and support neighbors.
OUR DIVERSITY, EQUITY, AND INCLUSION STATEMENT
At the Eastern Carolina YMCA, we believe that every individual is a unique creation of God, worthy of dignity, respect, and love. Rooted in Christian principles, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels welcomed and valued.
OUR HISTORY

Giving Back to the Community
More Than a Gym
As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, the Y provides resources our communities need to address the most pressing social issues: child welfare, education, health, and social connection. This includes providing nearly $300,000 in Financial Assistance each year to ensure ALL have access to Y programs and services. We work diligently to make sure every child, family and community has what they need to achieve their best.
