Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the Community Impact Director, in harmony with the Christian values and purpose of this Association and in accordance with the policies of the Association, The Afterschool Site Director will be directly responsible and accountable for the supervision of the Afterschool site to which he/she is assigned. This includes the day to day running of the site and supervision of the counselors.

Essential Functions:

  • Work closely with the Associate Family Services Director to develop the staffing needs of the assigned site.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with the school staff, such as the principal, maintenance staff and teachers
  • Keep accurate attendance through sign in and out sheets.
  • Develop a warm, welcoming environment for the students in the program.
  • Supervise and direct the counselors at the site.
  • Develop a weekly schedule that works for the site you have been assigned. This schedule must include a variety of activities, both structured and unstructured, as well as time for snack and homework.
  • Meet weekly with the Associate Family Services Director to discuss the site.
  • Meet monthly with all the site directors to share concerns and exchange ideas.
  • Hold monthly meetings for the staff under your supervision
  • Build positive relationships with the parents in the program.
  • Be well informed of the programs and services at the YMCA and able to share that information with the parents in the program.
  • Keep inventory of the supplies at the site and relay needs to the Youth and Family Services Director in a timely manner.

Education/Experience and Physical Requirements:

  • Two or four year degree in education or related field preferred.
  • Experience in childcare settings and leading staff required.
  • Previous professional and personal history of consistent quality, high responsibility, good ethical character, and conscientious service to employers and community.
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • CPR, First Aid, AED Certification.
  • Pass a local/state background check, as well as an independent drug test.

The Twin Rivers YMCA is seeking a Bus Driver to safely transport children between local schools, YMCA programs, and camp activities. This role plays an important part in supporting our youth programs and ensuring safe, reliable transportation.

Responsibilities include:

  • Safely driving YMCA vehicles for after school and camp programs
  • Picking up and dropping off children at scheduled locations
  • Performing basic vehicle safety checks and reporting maintenance needs
  • Following traffic laws and YMCA safety procedures

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of the Community Impact Director, the Learning Center Cook/Housekeeper will be directly responsible and accountable for the management, safety, and quality of the delivery of meals and snacks to participants and the overseeing of site cleanliness.

Essential Functions

  • Plan, organize, prepare, and cook healthy lunches and snacks that meet CACFP Program requirements.
  • Ensure work areas are maintained in a safe and sanitary manner and kitchen equipment is cleaned routinely.
  • Plan, create, and distribute menus according to USDA Meal Program and state licensing requirements.
  • Maintain inventory and supply lists for food and kitchen purchases.
  • Retain records and reports as required.
  • Develop and maintain positive rapport with staff, children, and families.
  • Follow all regulations from the State of North Carolina and other agencies as directed.
  • Uphold YMCA core values.
  • Attend required trainings and meetings.

The Twin Rivers YMCA is hiring an Early Learning Center Floater to support classrooms and provide a nurturing, high-quality experience for young children. This role assists teachers, helps maintain safe and engaging classrooms, and supports daily routines across the Early Learning Center.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting classroom activities and curriculum as directed by lead teachers
  • Providing supervision and coverage in classrooms as needed
  • Creating a safe, caring, and developmentally appropriate environment
  • Assisting with meals, sanitation, and classroom organization

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Sr. Program Director or designated supervisor the Group Exercise Coordinator will assist in all aspects of the Group Exercise programs including hiring and supervision of Group Exercise Instructors, and scheduling Group Exercise classes to meet the needs and demands of the membership. This position will be responsible for leading and coaching the wellness team in the delivery of group ex. programming in a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all. This position’s time is split between instructing and administrative work.

Essential Functions:

  • Support the mission, vision, and goals of the ECYMCA and Wellness Department.
  • Promote a professional work environment through character development by modeling the values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
  • Lead in a manner that advances our cause to strengthen the foundations of community through programs that focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.
  • Assist in supervising, training, and scheduling of group exercise staff.
  • Oversee the implementation of the daily operations of the Group Exercise program including schedules, sub schedules, GroupExPro, Atlas, etc.
  • Work with the Sr. Wellness Director to execute MOSSA and Group Ex. Launches when new releases are made.
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining communication between staff and leadership.
  • Assist in planning and conducting staff meetings. Attend all staff meetings and training as scheduled.
  • Assist in organizing, planning, promoting, and scheduling Group Exercise events and special programs.
  • Work with Marketing to promote wellness activities.
  • Maintain knowledge of current trends and developments in the field of health, fitness, and wellness programming.
  • Maintain group and virtual attendance records. Communicate with the Director regarding any trends.
  • Complete personal training on an as needed basis
  • Carry out other related duties as deemed necessary by the Wellness Department and branch operations to ensure an excellent member experience.
  • Teach a specified number of classes per week, as agreed upon with the Sr. Program Director.
  • Act as a leader in emergency situations. Report any accidents or incidents according to Emergency Action Plan. Ensure all members, guests, and program participants are in a safe environment and actively follow the branch Emergency Action Plan.
  • Promote and participate in YMCA fundraising efforts.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) or American Council on Exercise (ACE) certification is required. American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or a YMCA certification is preferred.
  • Nationally recognized group exercise certifications required; MOSSA certification(s) highly desired.
  • Certification of CPR/First Aid/AED
  • Complete and maintain required training to include but not limited to: New Employee Orientation, Bloodborne Pathogens, Child Abuse Prevention (CAP), and Sexual Harassment upon hire and annually thereafter.
  • Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check.

The Group Exercise Instructor must demonstrate a personal commitment to the mission of the YMCA. He/She must set the example for others to follow. Good communication skills (written and verbal) are essential, along with the ability to work effectively with people as a team. Must be able to promote the programs and services of the YMCA, dress appropriately to fit the task, friendly, and exhibit good health habits. This position requires good organizational skills, strong human relation skills, and the ability to adapt to a changing environment. The ability to maintain harmonious relationships with staff, volunteers, members, and guests are essential.

Qualifications:

  • Must have specific knowledge of exercise training in regard to the classes that are taught.
  • Current Adult CPR and AED certification
  • A national recognized group fitness certification (ACE, AFAA, YMCA, etc. and/or a nationally recognized personal trainer certification (ACSM, NSCA, ACE, AFAA, etc.)
  • Within 30 days of hire completion of: Adult CPR; AED; First Aid

Essential Functions:

  • Work with the Health and Wellness Director to develop the needs of the Group Exercise Program

  • Stay within the allotted time for courses. (15 Minutes over for an hour long class.)

  • Plan and implement new classes, employing new music and choreography to maintain member interest
  • Demonstrate proper form/technique and verbally cue members; correct form is necessary
  • Set-up, store, and secure equipment upon completion of class in a timely manner

  • Work with the Health and Wellness Director to develop the needs of the Personal Training Program.
  • Acquire knowledge to develop safe and effective personalized fitness programs for clients, including cardiovascular, strength training, and flexibility components, based on their goals and motivations.
  • Perform fitness assessments including body fat composition, strength, and flexibility and cardiovascular functions.
  • Work within the allotted time frame for each client. An additional 15 minutes per HOUR of training.
  • Promote the Personal Training Program to the members of the YMCA.
  • Setup and maintain equipment, store and secure equipment upon completion of each session.
  • Create a positive working environment which encourages and motivates others to become more involved in the YMCA.
  • Maintain and evaluate the fitness equipment, reporting the needs of the program to the Health and Wellness Director
