Come See What Community Looks Like

September 11-20, 2026

There’s a lot happening at the Twin Rivers YMCA during Welcome Week. And that’s kind of the point.

For 10 days, we’re creating more opportunities for our neighbors to walk through our doors, meet someone new, try something different, spend time together and give back to the community we all call home.

Whether you’ve been part of the Y for years, haven’t visited us in a while or have wondered what the Y is all about, you’re welcome here.

A Week Built Around Community

Welcome Week begins Friday, September 11, with a meaningful morning of remembrance. Local firefighters will take part in our 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, climbing 110 flights in honor of the firefighters and other first responders who gave their lives helping others on September 11, 2001. As we mark 25 years since the September 11 attacks, our community is invited to gather in the Twin Rivers YMCA lobby beginning at approximately 9:30 AM to pay tribute and encourage those making the climb.

Then on Saturday, September 12, our Y will be filled with local creativity during the Community Craft & Maker’s Fair from 8 AM to 1 PM. Later that day, we’ll host Parents’ Night Out, giving parents and caregivers a little time for themselves while their children enjoy time at the Y. Registration is required for Parents’ Night Out.

And that’s just the beginning.

Something Different Every Day

On Monday, September 14, we start with a claming Monday Meditation from 10-11 AM.

Tuesday brings opportunities to meet our Y team during Lobby Meet & Greets from 9 AM-noon and 4-7 PM. That evening, get moving during our Fitness-A-Thon from 5:30-7:30 PM in the Group Exercise Room. Gigi’s Snack Shack will also be our food truck of the day.

Bring your lunch Wednesday for our “Bring Your Own” Lunch & Learn from 11:30 AM-12:30 PM. It’s another chance to sit down, connect and spend a little time together.

Thursday, September 17, is packed with ways to take care of yourself and your neighbors, including our Blood Drive, Craven Smart Start Program and Intro to Pickleball Class. Taqueria San Luis will be on site as our food truck of the day.

Then we’ll head into Friday with Jasmine Tasty Thai joining us.

Give Back While You’re Here

Welcome Week is also about caring for our neighbors.

Throughout the week, we’ll be collecting food for Religious Community Services (RCS) in our lobby. When you come for a class, visit a food truck, attend an event or just stop by to say hello, consider bringing a food donation with you.

A few cans or pantry items might seem like a small thing, but when a whole community pitches in, those small acts add up.

That spirit of caring, connection and responsibility is a big part of what the Y is about. Our national brand guidance reminds us that the Y strengthens community by bringing people together and inspiring action, not simply by providing programs and services.

Thinking About Coming Back to the Y?

Welcome Week is a good time to do it.

From September 11-20, we’re welcoming new and returning members with:

NO JOINING FEE + NOTHING DUE UNTIL OCTOBER

Maybe you’re looking for a place to get moving again. Maybe your family could use another place to connect. Maybe you’ve driven past the Y a hundred times and wondered whether you’d feel comfortable walking through the doors.

Come see us.

You don’t have to already know where everything is, be in a certain stage of your fitness journey or know anyone here. The Y’s brand is built around creating spaces where people can be, belong and become, and that welcoming spirit is exactly what we want these 10 days to feel like.

Welcome Week is September 11-20 at the Twin Rivers YMCA.

Come for an event. Bring something for RCS. Try a class. Grab lunch. Meet your neighbors. Or just come through the doors and say hello.

There’s a place for you here.
